Ashleigh earned her Master’s Degree in occupational therapy from Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky. She has moved to Raleigh last year and became licensed by the North Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy. She obtained prior clinical experience in Indiana and Ohio and worked with both pediatrics and adults with diagnosis of attention deficit disorder, autism, bipolar, dementia, cerebral palsy, developmental delay, down syndrome, sensory processing disorder, and stroke. The settings she has clinical experience in include acute care/hospitals, outpatient pediatrics, early intervention, home care and psychiatric. She has a year experience working with the pediatric population in homes, clinics and daycares in the Raleigh area.
Ashleigh has prior experience in evaluating and treating children, toddlers and infants with neurological, developmental and motor disorders. She has been educated in both sensory integration and feeding for this population as well as treating gross motor, fine motor, coordination, and self care skills to help improve their functional independence. She is also BLS CPR certified in adults, children and infants.
Her career goal is to obtain a specialty certification to deliver and teach new evidence-based interventions that help decrease symptoms of autism in young children. Ashleigh’s warm hearted, empathetic and optimistic personality helps contribute to her professionalism when working with pediatrics and their families.
