Alyssa graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2014, she received her Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies graduating with Honors -Magna Cum Laude.
Alyssa has greater than two years as a lead teacher in a three-year-old inclusion classroom. She is experienced in working with children with a variety of special needs – Autism, Down syndrome, Traumatic Brain Injury, Visual Impairment, behavior concerns, global delays, and speech and language delays. While working in the inclusive preschool setting, Alyssa worked with a team of specialists and families to create individualized interventions to best serve the children in her classroom. In addition to experience in the classroom, Alyssa has been an Infant Toddler Family Specialist serving children and their families for over two years.
Alyssa believes that the children in her care are best served by working together with the family and all specialists.
In her spare time Alyssa enjoys being outside, playing basketball, helping out at her family’s store, traveling to spend time with her family located in the Midwest and cheering on the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Go Big Red!!
